Gelco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Nationwide

Every visit starts with

Level 1 sweep and inspection to the NFPA 211 annual standard - flue, crown, cap, and flashing checked and photographed

Worth knowing

Chimney sweep logs do not sweep chimneys. They loosen some creosote - which then falls where a brush and vacuum still have to collect it.

Gelco Chimney Liner & Rebuild in Brentwood: What to Know First

Gelco chimney liner and rebuild work in Brentwood typically runs $1,800 to $4,200 depending on liner length, flue condition, and whether we’re doing a straight replacement or rebuilding masonry at the top. Most Gelco liner jobs take one day; a full rebuild runs two to three. We’re an independent Gelco service provider, not a manufacturer shop, so our recommendation is based on what we see inside your flue, not what we’re told to sell. If you own a Gelco liner and something doesn’t seem right, call (934) 935-3847. Wendell Pike and the crew at Top Hat Chimney have been pulling failed liners out of Brentwood chimneys since 1999.

How Gelco Products Fail - and How We Fix Them

  • Gelco High-Temp 316L liner seam separation. The 316L series is a solid liner, but we regularly find seams starting to open on units that were pulled tight around an offset or through a corbeled flue. When the liner is stretched or twisted during install, the welded seam becomes the weak point. In Brentwood capes with short, straight flues this rarely shows up. On taller two-story colonials with offsets, it does. Our fix is a measured inspection first; if the separation is localized, we can often sleeve and re-secure. If it runs the length of the flue, replacement is the honest call.
  • Gelco flexible liner kinking at the smoke shelf. Some Gelco flexible liners were sized too close to the flue tile dimensions. That leaves almost no room to maneuver around the smoke shelf, and the liner kinks right there. You’ll notice reduced draft and a smoky smell that never fully clears. We cut the old liner out, re-measure the actual flue path, and size the replacement down a step so it makes the turn without folding.
  • Gelco rain cap and termination clamp corrosion. The cap on top of many Gelco installs is factory-supplied, and we see rust-through on the clamp ring faster than on the liner itself. That’s especially true near the water. Your liner may be fine while the cap and clamp are letting rain straight down onto the liner interior. We replace what’s failed with stainless aftermarket caps rather than another factory part that’ll do the same thing in six years.
  • Gelco liner thinning at the first flue tile offset. This shows up on systems that run wood stoves or inserts. Creosote accumulates at the first offset, gets hot, and repeatedly bakes the liner wall. Over years the 316L alloy thins there, and a camera inspection will show wall loss you can’t see from the top or the firebox. When we find it, we quote the liner section rather than the whole run if the rest of the liner passes camera check.
  • Gelco mortar crown cracking above the liner flue. Not strictly a liner failure, but we see many Gelco liner jobs where the original crown wasn’t re-pointed or re-cast, and now the crown is pulling apart around the termination. That lets water run down along the liner exterior and into the masonry. We re-cast the crown with a proper slope away from the flue opening and seal the termination joint.

Our Gelco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Process

  1. 1
We answer the phone and actually show up. Call (934) 935-3847, get a live person, and set a real arrival window. Inside the county, there’s no trip charge.
  2. 2
Camera inspection, always. We run a camera down the Gelco liner and the flue path before anything comes apart. You’ll see the footage yourself and we’ll tell you in plain English what needs doing and what can wait.
  3. 3
Parts decision before any work. If Gelco OEM parts are the right call, we use them. If a quality aftermarket piece will outlast the original at a better price, we’ll say so and quote both. You make the call, with our recommendation on the table.
  4. 4
The pull and the rebuild. Old liner comes out, flue gets prepared properly, and the new liner goes in without stretching it around corners it wasn’t meant to make. If masonry at the top needs rebuilding, we do it in the same trip.
  5. 5
Draft test and camera re-verify. We don’t leave until the draft is measured and the camera shows the liner seated correctly top to bottom.
  6. 6
Written 90-Day Done Right Promise. Every Gelco job gets the same promise in writing. If it’s not done right, one call brings us back at no additional cost.

What Gelco Chimney Liner & Rebuild Costs in Brentwood

Here’s what we typically see in Brentwood:

  • Basic Gelco flexible liner replacement, short straight flue: $1,800-$2,400
  • Gelco liner replacement with offsets or two-story access: $2,400-$3,200
  • Liner replacement plus top masonry repair and new crown: $3,500-$4,200
  • Partial rebuild of the top eight to twelve courses: $2,200-$3,500, depending on brick match and access

What moves the price: flue height, how badly the old liner was installed, whether the crown is involved, and whether we’re matching vintage brick on an older Brentwood colonial. We give the price before the tools come off the truck, and the number doesn’t change at the door. Call (934) 935-3847 for a free estimate on your Gelco job.

Why Brentwood Homeowners Call Top Hat Chimney for Gelco Work

We’ve been in Brentwood chimneys since 1999, and Wendell Pike still climbs roofs. That means the guy quoting your Gelco liner job is the same guy who’s going to be inside your flue with a camera. We publish our address and license number, and we back every job with the 90-Day Done Right Promise. If your Gelco liner needs something we don’t stock, we also work with DuraFlex and HeatShield as backup options, so you’re not waiting on a backordered part with a chimney that’s out of service. And when you call, a live person answers. It might be Wendell.
